Haryana's Healthcare Expansion: Aiming for 3,400 Medical Seats by 2029
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced plans to increase medical undergraduate seats to over 3,400 by 2029. Medical colleges are expanding, enhancing healthcare for citizens. From six colleges in 2014 to 15 now, the state aims for substantial growth in medical education and infrastructure.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has set an ambitious target to increase the number of undergraduate medical seats in the state from the current 2,185 to more than 3,400 by 2029.
Underlining the state's dedication to improving healthcare, Saini highlighted the ongoing establishment of medical colleges district-wide, part of the BJP government's efforts to bolster resources for both doctors and patients. On National Doctors' Day, he praised doctors for their commitment to service and society's health.
Since 2014, the state has expanded from six to 15 medical colleges, with nine more under construction. The increase in infrastructure has already raised MBBS seats from 700 to the present count. Additionally, postgraduate and PG diploma seats have expanded, supported by the recruitment of nearly 3,798 doctors since Saini's administration began.
