The Uttar Pradesh government has launched an ambitious campaign to protect children up to the age of five from the risk of diarrhoea, according to an official statement released on Monday.

The 'Stop Diarrhoea Campaign,' which commenced on July 16 and will run through July 31, seeks to increase public awareness through a variety of interactive and educational activities. Mobile vans display posters, banners, and audiovisual messages to inform the public about the causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment of diarrhoea.

The initiative aims to prevent diarrhoea in children by promoting cleanliness and self-care with ORS and zinc tablets. Partnering with organizations like Population Services International India and Kenvue, the campaign has begun in seven districts on the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Key prevention efforts focus on clean water access, sanitation, proper handwashing, exclusive breastfeeding, adequate nutrition, and timely vaccination.
