Crisis in Gaza: Rising Malnutrition Deaths Amid Blockade

The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as the Health Ministry reports an alarming increase in deaths due to malnutrition. This month alone, 48 Palestinians succumbed to malnutrition, with a total of 59 fatalities reported this year so far.

Gaza has been grappling with the devastating impact of Israel's aid blockade, initiated in March this year. According to the latest statistics, 81 of the 113 people who died from malnutrition since 2023 were children, highlighting the severe impact on the young population. International bodies have raised the alarm, with over 100,000 women and children threatened by starvation.

The International Rescue Community has documented a significant rise in malnutrition-related hospital admissions. Acting Director Scott Lea expressed concern, stating that children's bodies are failing them as their immune systems collapse, leaving them extremely vulnerable to infections and on the brink of survival.
