In a significant crackdown on illegal drug trade, the Department of Drugs Control in Delhi has seized unlicensed pharmaceuticals worth more than Rs 1.3 crore from a residential apartment in Paschim Vihar. This move comes as part of a broader effort to combat the issue of counterfeit medication in the national capital.
Health officials have sent the confiscated drugs for laboratory testing, anticipating results within the next 10 to 15 days to assess their quality and authenticity. Special teams, including drug inspectors and assistant drugs controllers, acted on a tip-off to execute this operation.
The authorities are now focused on unravelling the illegal supply chain and have initiated the process for criminal prosecution against those involved in the unlawful distribution and storage of these drugs. Further investigations aim to identify additional culprits in this illicit operation.
