In a strategic move before the Bihar assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a significant announcement on Wednesday, significantly increasing the monthly incentive for ASHA workers from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000.
Furthermore, Mamta health workers will see their per-delivery incentive doubled to Rs 600 from the existing Rs 300. Kumar emphasized the pivotal role these workers play in rural health service enhancement, noting their contribution since his government took office in 2005.
This decision aims to uplift the morale of health workers and strengthen health services in rural areas. The ASHA and Mamta workers are central to the National Rural Health Mission's efforts to deliver effective healthcare and facilitate health rights in rural communities.
