As Bihar gears up for assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a significant increase in incentives for the state's health workers. ASHA workers will now receive Rs 3,000 monthly, up from Rs 1,000, while 'Mamta' health workers' delivery incentive has been doubled to Rs 600.
Reacting to this announcement, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the government of adopting his previous initiatives during his time as the health minister. Yadav emphasized the pivotal role ASHA and 'Mamta' workers play in enhancing rural health services, asserting the government is merely mimicking his policies out of apprehension.
These decisions emerged in response to the notable contributions of ASHA and 'Mamta' workers under the National Rural Health Mission, aiming to strengthen healthcare services in rural areas. The state's political atmosphere simmers as electoral prospects approach, with promises of improved service delivery taking center stage.
