Healthcare services at AIIMS-Patna came to a standstill on Friday as resident doctors staged a boycott in response to alleged misconduct by Sheohar MLA Chetan Anand. The Resident Doctors' Association has demanded legal action and enhanced security following Anand's purported aggressive behavior.
Accusations include Anand, accompanied by his wife and armed guards, forcibly entering the hospital and threatening doctors, even brandishing a firearm. A hospital guard was reportedly injured during the confrontation, leading to a significant disruption of emergency and outpatient services.
Anand, formerly of the RJD and now with JD(U), filed a counter-complaint with claims of staff mistreatment. As investigations proceed into both sets of allegations, tensions remain high at the facility.
