In a concerning incident that unfolded on Friday afternoon, eight children at an anganwadi centre found themselves needing urgent medical attention after mistakenly ingesting pesticide contents. The children, who initially thought the pesticide was an edible snack, were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The unfortunate incident occurred after a young girl brought the pesticide packet from her home, assuming it was 'chooran,' a type of tangy snack, and shared it with seven friends. Shortly after tasting it, the children fell ill.
Local authorities, including the anganwadi centre staff and police, promptly responded by taking the affected children to a primary health centre. As a cautionary step, they were further referred to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where doctors confirmed them 'out of danger.'
