Tripura Embarks on Medical Excellence with New Courses and Facilities
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced plans to introduce superspeciality courses at Agartala Government Medical College. Highlighting future enhancements in hospital management and transplants, he also revealed plans for a dedicated eye hospital. An MoU with AIIMS, New Delhi, aims to improve training and services at state health facilities.

In a bid to enhance healthcare education and services, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday revealed the state's plan to introduce superspeciality courses at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC). Currently, the state-run institution offers MBBS and post-graduate courses.
Marking the 21st foundation day of AGMC, Saha emphasized upcoming changes, including hospital management improvements through training collaborations with AIIMS, New Delhi. A Memorandum of Understanding is on the cards to equip doctors with advanced management skills.
The chief minister highlighted recent advancements, such as successful kidney transplants, and announced forthcoming liver and heart transplant services. Plans for a new 100-bed eye hospital in Agartala and the introduction of a dentistry PG course at Agartala Government Dental College were also shared.
