The Haryana chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced a suspension of Ayushman Bharat scheme services in the state. This decision follows the government's inability to clear pending dues of Rs 490 crore to empanelled hospitals.

Representing nearly 650 private hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the IMA had warned of halting treatments from August 7. Despite appeals from Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Sudhir Rajpal, the impasse remained unresolved.

Soni stated that further meetings didn't provide satisfactory results, pressing the concern of prolonged payment delays. The IMA, responding to cumulative frustrations, has decided to carry out the suspension, emphasizing the sustainability challenges faced by these hospitals without timely reimbursements.
