Advancing Cancer Care in Assam: Governor Unveils Cutting-Edge Facilities

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has introduced groundbreaking facilities at the B Barooah Cancer Institute to elevate the standard of cancer care in the region. The inauguration took place on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone for healthcare in the northeastern area.

Among the new installations is the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator Radiotherapy Machine, promising enhanced treatment precision and reduced side effects for cancer patients. This state-of-the-art equipment is expected to improve both treatment outcomes and patient experiences significantly.

The launch also included an E-Office Facility aimed at streamlining office management, boosting operational efficiency, and promoting transparency in healthcare services. Governor Acharya emphasized the institute's dual role in providing top-notch treatment and fostering research and education under the aegis of the Union government's Department of Atomic Energy.
