Declared in early September, the outbreak is concentrated in the nation's forests, a known Ebola reservoir. The virus, notorious for its severe symptoms and long-term persistence in survivors, has prompted immediate response measures.
The WHO has initiated vaccinations using Ervebo doses, supplied essential medical materials, and set up an Ebola treatment center. With over 900 contacts under surveillance, the organization is intensifying efforts to mitigate the outbreak's impact swiftly.
