Tragedy in Madhya Pradesh: Fatal Cough Syrup Scandal Unfolds

In a tragic incident, 20 children from Madhya Pradesh have lost their lives, while five remain in critical condition, following the consumption of a contaminated cough syrup. The state Health Minister, Rajendra Shukla, revealed the details to reporters on Wednesday.
A probe is underway, with a police team from Chhindwara dispatched to Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu to arrest the owner of the company responsible for manufacturing the suspect Coldrif cough syrup. Shukla, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of MP, visited grieving families to offer support.
The MP government has acted swiftly, suspending two drug inspectors, a deputy director, and transferring the state's drug controller. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the matter thoroughly, with charges brought against the Tamil Nadu-based manufacturer.
