In a strategic move to enhance healthcare infrastructure, Premji Invest has announced its investment in Maharashtra's Newera Hospitals. This new financial backing aims to expand Newera's capacity from 350 to 800 beds, focusing primarily on new facilities in Nagpur.
According to a statement, Newera Hospitals, which already operates two facilities in Nagpur and Navi Mumbai, is preparing to establish three additional hospitals in Nagpur. The investment aims to address the region's healthcare shortfalls, as described by Premji Invest's Prakash Chellam, head of the healthcare and life sciences division.
Newera Hospitals has built a strong reputation in complex medical specialties like neurosciences, transplants, and cardiology. Co-founder Dr. Anand Sancheti emphasized the importance of providing quality healthcare beyond India's larger cities, stating the new investment will enable significant infrastructure developments.
