Transforming Cancer Care: United Front at Fortis Cancer Summit 2026

Amid an increasing demand for cooperative efforts in oncology, experts gathered on Friday to emphasize the importance of international collaboration, innovative practices, and personalized treatment methodologies for improved cancer care outcomes. The observations surfaced during a media briefing preceding the Fortis Cancer Summit 2026, set to be held on May 2 and 3 in the national capital.

Organized by Fortis Healthcare Limited, the summit aims to congregate oncologists and researchers from over 25 countries. Iliya Karniliyus Salu, chief medical director of Trust Charitos Hospital in Nigeria, underscored the necessity for global cooperation amid escalating, universal cancer challenges. The event will serve as a platform for exchanging diverse clinical experiences and advancing oncology research worldwide.

With the theme 'Beyond Evidence-Based Oncology,' the summit stresses translating evidence into personalized, multidisciplinary treatment pathways. Experts advocated for improved access to care, early detection, and the integration of advanced diagnostics, particularly noting the prevalence of head and neck cancers in North India due to tobacco use. International experts from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Oman, Nigeria, and Uzbekistan are expected to participate.
