In a critical development from Odisha's Jajpur district, a total of 58 people, 27 of whom are children, have been hospitalized following severe illness linked to a local delicacy, authorities report.
The incident unfolded in Patapur village, located in the Dasarathapur block, where the villagers reportedly consumed 'Cuttack Dahibara' from a local vendor. Shortly after, numerous individuals experienced symptoms of vomiting and fever, as confirmed by the police.
In response, the state government has deployed three independent teams to probe the situation. Minister Mukesh Mahaling assured that all necessary measures are being taken to provide optimal medical care to those affected, with food and water samples sent for further testing.
