The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday that the hantavirus outbreak associated with a cruise ship docked in the Netherlands poses a low risk to the general population.
This comes after three fatalities and three illnesses were reported aboard the vessel, spurring public concern.
Despite the situation, Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge, WHO's regional director for Europe, assured that no travel restrictions or panic are warranted at this time.
