India-Japan Unite for Health Innovation

In a bilateral move to enhance technological synergy, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has joined hands with the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) to innovate in health and medical devices. The cooperation agreement was announced following a meeting between Indian Union Minister Jitendra Singh and Kimi Onoda, Japan's Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy.

The partnership aims to leverage Japan's advanced technological capabilities alongside India's skilled human resources. Together, they plan to accelerate innovation in key areas that could yield significant societal benefits. A letter of intent was also signed to cooperate on quantum science and technology, marking another area of collaboration.

During this strategic meeting, both nations discussed ongoing initiatives like researcher mobility and joint innovation platforms. This collaboration also extends to conducting joint research and industry internships, highlighting the commitment to expanding cooperation in health research, medical technologies, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
