Negative Vigilance: France Clears All Suspected Hantavirus Cases
In France, 26 individuals suspected of hantavirus infection have tested negative. Despite the results, they remain under medical observation. In a recent health alert, the French Health Minister announced on Thursday that all 26 people under observation for hantavirus infection tested negative.
The individuals will still undergo medical monitoring, receiving tests thrice weekly. Further updates will only be communicated if there are positive results, as stated in a tweet by Health Minister Stephanie Ritz.
Though hantavirus primarily spreads via rodents, human-to-human transmission is possible through close contact in exceptionally rare instances.
