Eight members of a family, including five children, suffered burn injuries after an LPG cylinder caught fire at a house in Rajasthan's Alwar district on Thursday, police said.
The incident took place in Data village when a person named Radheshyam was connecting an LPG cylinder to a newly purchased gas stove.
Gas allegedly leaked during the process and the cylinder caught fire when the stove was ignited.
Radheshyam and other family members present in the house sustained burn injuries in the incident. The injured included five children and two women, Station House Officer (SHO) of Tehla police station Mukesh Meena said.
He said the children were standing nearby to watch the installation of the new stove when the fire broke out.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Three of them were later referred to the SMS Hospital in Jaipur due to the severity of their burn injuries, the SHO said.
