Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said here that Sanjeevani, a health record digitisation and services programme, will be launched across the state on August 15.
Addressing a public meeting at Kandriga village in Chittoor district, the chief minister noted that Sanjeevani, which was launched as a pilot project in Kuppam in July 2025, will monitor every aspect needed for good health.
''We have decided to start the Sanjeevani project across the state on August 15. The government took up measures to undertake 42 medical tests right at home and handover the reports,'' Naidu said, adding that Sanjeevani was aimed at delivering the best health services to people.
Emphasising that Sanjeevani is a citizen wellness programme mission, the TDP supremo promised to bring forth 'AI doctor' services soon.
He said Sanjeevani is not just a software, but a top digital public health operative system, which will offer advanced healthcare virtually right at home.
For the welfare of society, the CM observed that Sanjeevani was conceptualised with predictive, preventive and curative approaches, adding that real development means issuing pre-emptive health warnings before diseases strike and making relevant treatment available.
Observing that the TDP-led NDA government is according primacy to education and health, Naidu said the government allocated Rs 19,305 crore for healthcare in FY27, among other initiatives.
Due to El Nino effect, he said there are forecasts for lower rainfall but noted that he will move forward by taking it as a challenge.
According to the CM, gold mines will become operational from next month in Kurnool district, and promised to transform Rayalaseema region into a Rs 1 lakh crore horticultural hub.
He said the government will spend Rs 40,000 crore on this initiative while Rs 60,000 crore will be invested by private players.
Emphasising that cooking gas shortage arose due to the West Asia war, coupled with a rise in the price of petrol and diesel, Naidu called on people to face these challenges following the ''frugal formula'' suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi, while addressing a rally organised by the Telangana BJP in Hyderabad recently, suggested reducing petrol and diesel consumption, using metro rail services in cities, carpooling, increasing the use of electric vehicles (EVs), utilising railway services for parcel movement and working from home to conserve foreign exchange amid the crisis in West Asia.
Naidu likened YSRCP to an ''axe party'', which does not have a place in democracy and called it harmful to society.
The CM's comments come in the wake of YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's recent accusations against the TDP chief, the NDA coalition government, Amaravati and alleged corruption in the southern state.
Reacting to Jagan's comments that his grandfather Raja Reddy and uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy were allegedly murdered during previous TDP regimes, Naidu said that ''everybody knows who was the ultimate beneficiary of his uncle's death''.
Likewise, he alleged that Jagan had enacted dramas under the name of a knife attack and a stone pelting attack against him in the past and claimed that he had extended protection to a party leader who had murdered his Dalit driver.
Further, the CM alleged that a Dalit doctor was murdered for asking a face mask during the previous YSRCP government and claimed that Reddy had done injustice to his mother and sister while partitioning family assets.
Naidu alleged that the previous YSRCP government had jeopardized Polavaram Project and the greenfield capital city of Amaravati and ''encouraged'' marijuana and several other alleged irregularities.
The CM alleged that he was arrested without even serving a notice and said that as soon as the people's government arrived, TDP-coalition government, freedom was brought to the people.
