Taiwan Stands Firm Against China's Sovereignty Claims at Central Asia Summit

Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned China's assertion that Taiwan is part of China during a summit with Central Asian allies. In a firm rebuttal, Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) denounced the inclusion of a statement declaring Taiwan as part of China in a joint declaration by China and its Central Asian allies. This assertion, made during the Central Asia-China Summit in Astana, has been met with strong disapproval from Taipei.

The ministry slammed Chinese President Xi Jinping for describing Taiwan as an inseparable part of China, calling it a shocking claim. The MOFA also criticized Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan for endorsing Beijing's viewpoint, which undermines Taiwan's sovereignty.

Emphasizing Taiwan's autonomous identity, MOFA reiterated that neither the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor the People's Republic of China has jurisdiction over the other. The ministry urged the Central Asian nations to reconsider their stance, which, it argues, is factually disputed and risks destabilizing regional peace.
