A House committee has pressed the Department of Defense (DOD) to intensify its scrutiny of American defense contractors over potential Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence. The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) reports that the committee specifically urged Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to enforce a key regulation aimed at identifying ultimate ownership within defense contracts.

The committee letter cited the pending implementation of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) rule, mandated nearly five years ago under the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act. This delay, the letter argues, exposes U.S. defense infrastructure to infiltration by foreign entities like the CCP.

Central to the committee's concerns is Jerry Wang, CEO of S&L Aerospace Metals LLC, who is allegedly linked to various CCP intelligence bodies. According to reports, Wang's connections through the United Front Work Department (UFWD) underscore the urgent need for enhanced regulatory measures to secure national defense interests against external threats.
