The East Turkistan Government in Exile (ETGE) has launched a strong criticism against US Ambassador to China David Perdue's recent meeting with Wang Xiaohong, China's Minister of Public Security. The ETGE claims that this meeting normalizes relations with an official involved in ongoing genocide against Uyghurs and Turkic peoples in East Turkistan.

In a social media post dated June 20, 2025, Ambassador Perdue reportedly discussed US-China cooperation on law enforcement and the fentanyl crisis with Wang. Salih Hudayar, ETGE's Minister of Foreign Affairs, accused the ambassador of engaging with a figure he believes should be sanctioned rather than entertained by the US government.

The ETGE issued a stern warning about the potential implications of this collaboration, highlighting the risk of increased transnational repression by China against Uyghur communities abroad, including within the United States. The government in exile also criticized Washington's political inconsistency in failing to recognize East Turkistan as an occupied territory, urging immediate action against China's alleged human rights abuses.
