The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has summoned Iranian Ambassador Ali Salehabadi to emphasize its condemnation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's attack on the Al-Udeid Air Base, which occurred on Monday local time. In a strong statement, Qatar described the assault as a direct violation of its sovereignty and airspace, citing breaches of international law and the United Nations Charter. The foreign ministry affirmed Qatar's right to respond according to international norms.

Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, conveyed to the Iranian Envoy that the attack contradicts the principles of good neighborliness and undermines the longstanding ties between the nations. Qatar has historically called for dialogue with Iran and has made significant diplomatic efforts to maintain peaceful relations.

Emphasizing the necessity of diplomacy, Al Muraikhi urged a return to dialogue to resolve disputes and prevent conflict escalation. This diplomatic exchange comes in the wake of a US-Iran ceasefire agreement facilitated by Qatar, which played a crucial role in securing Tehran's cooperation. US President Donald Trump voiced disappointment over subsequent ceasefire breaches by Israel and Iran, illustrating the fragile nature of the regional peace efforts.
