In a vibrant celebration, the Tsuglagkhang Temple in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, marked the 90th birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama on Monday, according to the Tibetan calendar. June 30th witnessed an array of events bringing together interfaith leaders and global well-wishers to honor the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism.
The Dalai Lama addressed the gathering, reaffirming his dedication to peace and service to Tibet and humanity. Despite the small venue size, the event was a testament to his global influence, attracting diverse spiritual and political figures. According to Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration, the official celebration will occur on July 6, as per the Gregorian calendar.
Prominent attendees like Yoga Guru Swami Chidanand Saraswati and spiritual leader Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati echoed the Dalai Lama's teachings of peace and compassion. The gathering underscored a shared rejection of war and violence, emphasizing dialogue and unity, which resonated with interfaith leaders like Jain priest Acharya Lokesh Muni.
