In a testament to their enduring alliance, India and Bhutan conducted the Development Cooperation Talks in New Delhi on Monday, led by Indian Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal and Bhutanese Foreign Secretary Aum Pema Choden. Both governments praised their countries' long-standing partnership marked by deep-rooted trust, understanding, and extensive people-to-people connections.

The discussions served as a critical platform for evaluating the countries' comprehensive development cooperation agenda. India has pledged a robust INR 10,000 crore for Bhutan's upcoming 13th Five-Year Plan. This support will finance diverse initiatives such as Project Tied Assistance (PTA), High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP), the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP), and other financial grants.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of previously approved projects, with the Bhutanese government presenting new proposals worth INR 1113 Crores. The discussions culminated in the approval of ten projects concentrating on healthcare, connectivity, and infrastructure, underscoring a shared vision of progress and unity. The session concluded amicably, affirming plans for future talks in Thimphu.
