Modi, known for his grounded nature, opted to sleep in a modest utility room without air conditioning or an attached bathroom, insisting it was suitable for him despite the availability of more comfortable accommodations. Mornings were characterized by his disciplined routine of rising early, making tea, and laying out breakfast for everyone, exemplifying his rare groundedness.

Mittal was particularly impressed by Modi's clarity on grassroots issues like poverty eradication and the global role of the Indian diaspora.
