The Baloch Advocacy and Studies Center (BASC) issued a fervent appeal for international intervention in the deteriorating human rights conditions in Balochistan during a landmark seminar at SOAS, University of London on July 30. General Secretary Qambar Baloch emphasized BASC's commitment to a research-driven approach to spotlight the persecution of Baloch communities in Iran and Pakistan.

Dubbed 'Hidden in the Shadows: Human Rights Violations Against the Baloch in Iran and Pakistan,' the seminar presented damning evidence from BASC's forthcoming annual report. These findings detail a surge in state-sanctioned violence, including extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances, underscoring the systemic nature of these abuses, according to Baloch.

The event featured notable speakers like UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, Mai Sato, and Sabiha Baloch from the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, who provided critical insights into the repression endured by Baloch people. Qambar Baloch underscored the seminar's importance in drawing a diverse audience, including journalists, diplomats, and victims' families, to amplify calls for international accountability and justice, vowing that BASC's mission would persist until the Baloch people's plight is brought to light.
