In a fervent appeal for international aid, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed the critical necessity for both regional and global backing of Afghanistan's humanitarian and developmental struggles. This call to action came during the inauguration of the United Nations Regional Centre for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) held in Almaty.

Guterres extended his gratitude to Kazakhstan for its active cooperation with Afghanistan and articulated the importance of the newly established centre in fostering sustainable development throughout the region. He stated, 'The Afghan people deserve peace, stability, and a better future amidst poverty, displacement, and climatic adversities.'

Furthermore, Guterres underscored the imperative of respecting human rights, particularly those of women and girls, while championing economic self-reliance and human dignity in Afghanistan. Political analyst Wahid Faqiri remarked on the need for Afghanistan to address internal issues like women's rights and combating drugs and terrorism to achieve global acceptance.
