Amjad Ayub Mirza, an activist from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has expressed strong criticism of the recent implementation of Section 144 across Balochistan, which prohibits gatherings of more than five people for 15 days. He described this regulation as a violation of fundamental civil liberties and indicative of the government's struggles to quell the emerging Baloch resistance.

Mirza, in a video address, argued that the authorities' desperation is evident in this extensive prohibition. Previous attempts to silence rallies orchestrated by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and address human rights issues have largely been ineffective. 'This regulation means that assembling more than four people is illegal, risking detention,' he said, also highlighting the controversial treatment of BYC leader Mahrang Baloch.

Recalling her recent court appearance, Mirza noted her challenge to the extension of her remand, questioning the grounds on which cooperation was deemed absent. He insisted the courts had no reasonable basis to restrict Mahrang Baloch or the BYC's activities. Praising the bravery of demonstrators, he highlighted their resolve compared to the lack of enthusiasm within Pakistan's military forces, whom he accused of prioritizing financial benefits over genuine advocacy.
