Tragic Road Accidents in Pakistan: Fatalities and Injuries Reported

In a tragic incident near Ahmedabad Town on Tuesday, a speeding bus lost control, toppling into a pond and claiming the lives of two individuals, Dawn reported. The Gujranwala to Zafarwal route bus had its journey cut short when it overturned and submerged, trapping several passengers, including women and children.
Rescue 1122, under the leadership of District Emergency Officer Engineer Muhammad Aurangzeb, responded swiftly. Rescuers managed to retrieve the deceased, Sohaib (30) and Sadia Bibi (38), while 13 others, including minors, were administered first aid after being extricated and transported to a hospital. Eyewitnesses Tufail and Nasir Hussain indicated that excessive speed and road conditions were contributing factors.
Meanwhile, in Sheikhupura, a motorcycle-rickshaw collided with a parked trailer, resulting in one fatality and eight injuries. Rana Haroon Ali of Rescue 1122 confirmed that Parveen Bibi (55) died instantly, while the driver fled. Emergency aid was provided to the injured before they were transferred to a hospital, with local law enforcement notified.
