A bomb explosion on a railway track in Balochistan's Mastung district derailed six carriages of the Jaffar Express, yet resulted in no casualties. Officials confirmed the incident, which occurred near the Spezand station, involved a train carrying 350 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar.
Security forces promptly responded, deploying rescue teams and launching a search operation in the cordoned-off area. Four of the derailed bogies have been placed back on the tracks, and efforts persist to restore the remaining two. Passengers were safely returned to Quetta by a relief train, with full ticket refunds promised.
The incident marks a continuation of recent rail disruptions in the region, including a narrowly avoided disaster in Sibi and a previous derailment in Sindh's Sukkur.
