In a bid to revitalize Syria's crippled economy, a Jordanian-Syrian-American meeting is set to take place on Tuesday, as confirmed by Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. The meeting aims to explore avenues to support Syria's rebuilding initiatives, which are attracting global investment interests.
The meeting will see participation from Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and the United States envoy to Syria, Thomas Barrack. This comes as Damascus, under the leadership of President Ahmed al-Sharaa, faces ongoing challenges from internal sectarian conflicts and external threats, including Israeli military strikes, according to Al Jazeera.
Syria is moving forward with its infrastructure plans, having recently signed agreements totaling $14 billion. These include a new airport in collaboration with Qatar and a subway project with the UAE. Talal al-Hilali, head of the Syrian Investment Authority, called these developments a major turning point, signaling a transformative phase for the nation's future, as reported by Al Jazeera.
