The sit-in on the Karakoram Highway continues to disrupt commerce and travel between Pakistan and China for the 22nd consecutive day, as disagreements persist between the government and protestors, according to Dawn. A federal committee organized by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet on Monday to propose solutions.

Business operations at the Sost Dry Port remain suspended due to the protest, reported Dawn. The sit-in, spearheaded by the Tajir Ittehad Action Committee and supported by various regional entities, demands new conditions for economic collaboration and trade with China.

A delegation led by PoGB Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan has engaged with the protest organizers, considering their demands and preparing recommendations for the national committee. Protesters insist on tax relief for PoGB residents and the release of blocked consignments at Sost Dry Port under a one-time amnesty plan.
