India and China convened for their 24th Special Representatives meeting on the China-India boundary issue on Tuesday. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi underscored the importance of fostering a healthy and stable relationship, noting it benefits both nations significantly. The meeting brought together India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Wang Yi, a key figure in China's foreign affairs apparatus.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement highlighting "comprehensive, in-depth, and fruitful discussions" concerning the border issue and bilateral relations, alongside global and regional matters. Wang Yi referenced consensus reached during a meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the previous year's BRICS Summit in Russia, describing it as pivotal for China-India relations.

Both sides acknowledged the year marked by progress in stabilizing relations and controlling the border situation. The session concluded with reaffirmations to nurture communication, address specific issues constructively, and prepare for the 25th meeting to be held in China next year, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations.
