In a significant move to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE has unveiled Ministerial Resolution No. (173) of 2025. This resolution aims to revamp governance of practical training programmes in higher education institutions, aligning them closely with labour market requirements.

Mohammed Al Mualla, Undersecretary of the Ministry, emphasized the government's dedication to improving practical training to ensure graduates acquire skills relevant to key economic sectors. "Practical training bridges theory and real-world experience," he noted, "equipping students with the capabilities needed to innovate and thrive professionally."

The resolution mandates the collaboration between higher education institutions and public and private training providers, enhancing training safety, quality, and oversight. With obligations for comprehensive training plans, performance assessments, and stringent oversight mechanisms, this decision supports the UAE's vision for a sustainable, knowledge-driven future.
