India and Venezuela are advancing discussions aimed at fortifying their alliance through Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. These collaborative talks, focusing on crucial areas such as payments and citizen services, were confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday.

The Secretary (East) of India's Ministry of External Affairs, P Kumaran, engaged with Venezuela's Vice-Minister for Development of Information and Communications Technology, Raul Hernandez, to explore these avenues for cooperation. According to official statements on social media, both nations view digital transformation as a pivotal component of their bilateral engagements.

The diplomatic conversation dovetails with the celebration of 64 years of formal relations and highlights Venezuela's status as a significant oil supplier to India.
