Iranian FM Araghchi's Diplomatic Odyssey: From Oman to Pakistan and Beyond

Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, returned to Islamabad on Sunday evening, following diplomatic engagements in Oman, state broadcaster Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported. Araghchi's visit marks his second trip to the Pakistani capital in two days as part of a brief transit before his scheduled departure to Moscow.

The diplomatic initiatives, as reported by CNN citing Iranian sources, are aimed at sustaining US-Iran peace talks despite President Donald Trump's cancellation of a planned visit by his representatives to Islamabad. Araghchi's brief return to Pakistan involved discussions on a framework to end the ongoing conflict with the US.

The Pakistani leadership hosted high-level meetings during Araghchi's visit, enhancing the country's diplomatic aspirations. However, remarks from Araghchi on social media suggested skepticism about the US's genuine commitment to a diplomatic resolution. Furthermore, Araghchi elaborated on Iran's position concerning ceasefire efforts and regional stability, following earlier talks in Muscat with Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
