Union Home Minister Amit Shah organized an emergency meeting involving chief ministers, chief secretaries, and DGPs of states bordering Pakistan and Nepal. This meeting comes after India's recent military action targeting terror sites in Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror incident.
Scheduled via video conferencing, the gathering includes officials from states like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and others, alongside Ladakh's Lieutenant Governor. Ahead of the address, Shah instructed Central Armed Police Forces to ensure all personnel on leave were called back, illustrating the government's focus on heightened security measures.
Dubbed 'Operation Sindoor', the strikes serve as India's resolute response to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in 26 casualties. Shah emphasized that under the Modi government's regime, any assault on India's sovereignty will be met with a decisive countermeasure, reiterating their commitment to combat terrorism decisively.
