The victim, identified as Chandan from Nawada's Warisaliganj block, suffered fatal bullet wounds at Saidpur hostel where many students reside while preparing for competitive exams.
According to ASP Atulesh Jha, police responded to a call at 3.30 am and found the body, sparking an active investigation with forensic experts involved and a manhunt for the assailants initiated.
