Chinese Citizens Advised to Exercise Caution in South Asia Amidst Rising Tensions

Amid escalating hostilities in South Asia, the Chinese embassies in India and Pakistan have issued safety advisories urging Chinese nationals to remain vigilant. The warnings come in light of an upsurge in violence between nuclear-armed neighbors India and Pakistan, following military strikes by India on suspected terrorist sites in Pakistan.

The Chinese embassy in Nepal has also cautioned its citizens to steer clear of the Nepal-India border. Given the open border policy between the two countries, diplomats warn that Chinese travelers without a valid visa might inadvertently cross into Indian territory. Both India and Nepal have heightened security along the border amidst the tensions.

Diplomatic officials are advising Chinese nationals in affected areas to keep abreast of the situation and adhere to recommended safety protocols. The developments arise after an attack on Hindu pilgrims in Indian-administered Kashmir, which has further strained Indo-Pakistani relations.
