Justice Kr. Shripad: From Advocate to Orissa HC Judge

Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad officially took the oath as a judge at the Orissa High Court in Cuttack on Monday. The ceremony was overseen by Chief Justice Harish Tandon, marking Justice Shripad's transition from the Karnataka High Court to Orissa on May 1.
With an illustrious legal career beginning in 1989, Justice Shripad has practiced in both Karnataka and Madras high courts. He has held notable positions such as the senior standing counsel for the Election Commission of India and additional central government standing counsel.
Among his varied roles, Justice Shripad has also been a standing counsel for major institutions like the University Grants Commission, the Competition Commission of India, and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. He served as the assistant solicitor general of India since 2014, representing the central government until his judicial elevation in 2018 at the Karnataka High Court.
