The Telangana government announced on Monday that 162 residents from border states have successfully reached the Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. This group comprises 56 people from Jammu and Kashmir and 106 from Punjab.
An official release stated that 130 individuals have already departed to their hometowns after receiving essential support, while those remaining are accommodated at Telangana Bhavan, awaiting further arrangements. The state's push for comprehensive relief, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is actively ongoing.
Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal personally assessed the situation and interacted with students, many of whom wish to visit their homes before returning to their institutions. In response, Uppal contacted the universities, requesting online classes as interim measures, to which they acquiesced, showing improving conditions and reduced distress calls.
