Border Duty Leaves SSB Jawan to Mourn Wife's Tragic Passing

Their 15-day-old daughter is with family in Jharsuguda, Odisha. Arrangements were made to fly Lipi to Bhubaneswar, but she succumbed to multi-organ failure.

The death of Lipi Gand, wife of an SSB jawan, underscored the challenges faced by families of servicemen. Lipi succumbed to post-delivery complications while her husband, Debraj Gand, was stationed at the India-Bhutan border. Their newborn is now in the care of family in Odisha.
Odisha's Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, expressed condolences, emphasizing efforts to ensure Debraj could attend the funeral. The minister's comments highlighted the support provided to the family during this difficult time.
Despite initial plans to airlift Lipi to Bhubaneswar, she passed away from multi-organ failure. Debraj is en route from Arunachal Pradesh, expected to arrive in Jharsuguda by evening, as the family gathers to mourn and honor Lipi's memory.
