In a shocking turn of events, an 80-year-old landlord in Bokaro, Jharkhand, met a grisly end after being allegedly murdered by his tenant. The incident, which unfolded on May 11, came to light when the landlord, Kalika Rai, reportedly coaxed his tenant, Runa Devi, to his residence under the guise of offering her fish, according to local police.
In a bid to defend herself from Rai's advances, Devi allegedly retaliated by striking him on the head with a grinding stone, resulting in his immediate death. Bokaro Superintendent of Police, Manoj Swargiary, revealed details during a press briefing, highlighting the chilling circumstances surrounding the grisly episode.
A swift investigation followed, forming a Special Investigation Team on the very day of the crime. Forensic evidence soon pieced together the sequence of events, leading to Devi's arrest, Swargiary said. Further probes indicated that the deceased had been persistently molesting Devi over unpaid rent, culminating in the tragic incident.
