The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police has apprehended Pramod Kumar Upadhyay, a man accused of deceiving individuals by fraudulently registering land through enticing offers in Lucknow's Mohanlalganj area, as officials reported on Monday.

According to the STF's official statement, Upadhyay, who hails from Ballia district and resides in Lucknow, was arrested following multiple complaints. He, alongside his family's company Info Vision Private Limited, ensnared victims with promising land deals, ultimately resulting in over a dozen criminal cases against him.

During interrogation, Upadhyay claimed that his elder brother Vinod Kumar Upadhyay and their father initially established the company. As an authorized representative, he played a significant role in the fraudulent transactions, targeting unsuspecting buyers. With legal proceedings ongoing, the Mohanlalganj police have taken him into custody.
