In a dramatic rescue operation, Indian students escaping the escalating conflict in Iran have safely returned to Delhi, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian government for the swift evacuation. On Thursday morning, the first batch of 110 students who had been evacuated to Armenia landed home, marking a significant step in the challenging evacuation process.
Speaking on the ongoing evacuation efforts, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh confirmed the deployment of more flights to ensure the safety of Indians stranded in Iran and neighboring countries. ''We are also coordinating with Turkmenistan to facilitate further evacuations,'' Singh stated, emphasizing the 24-hour availability of diplomatic missions to assist in requests for rescue.
Among the students, Varta, hailing from Kashmir, recalled the terrifying experiences they faced and conveyed deep appreciation for the Indian Embassy's swift actions. Other students, including Mir Khalif and Ali Akbar, shared harrowing stories of witnessing war-torn scenarios and acknowledged the critical support from Armenian authorities during their transition. Parents eagerly awaited their children's arrival, expressing relief and gratitude towards the rescue operations.
