Union Home Minister Amit Shah is embarking on a crucial two-day tour of Chhattisgarh starting June 22 to evaluate the progress of anti-Naxal operations. His agenda includes vital discussions and laying the groundwork for National Forensic Science University and a state forensic lab in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

The Chhattisgarh government has designated 40 acres for the NFSU, with the central government funding the Rs 400-crore project. Adjoining the NFSU, a state forensic lab will occupy six to seven acres, as announced by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, who also holds the home portfolio.

On the second day, Shah will visit a security forces camp in the Bastar region and hold a strategic meeting in Raipur on ongoing operations. Notably, anti-Naxal initiatives have gained momentum following the BJP's electoral success, with over 400 Maoist cadres eliminated since January 2024. Shah's visit reaffirms the government's resolute commitment to eradicating Naxalism by March 2026.
