In a startling case in Bairia tehsil, Sharda Devi, 55, sought justice from the district magistrate, claiming she was declared dead in land records. This alleged manipulation allowed her relatives to falsely inherit her property.

Devi, from Basantpur, informed Magistrate Mangala Prasad Singh of the fraudulent act, stating that her name disappeared from records in 2023. She emphasized that she is the sole heir after her father, Raja Ram Singh, passed.

Upon assessing the complaint, Singh directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Bairia to investigate the matter. He assured firm action against the culprits, even if they are revenue officials.
